I met Greer about a year ago at church. I have been impressed by her desire to help people, and her cogent and focused way of doing so. I've also been impressed by her knowledge of North Carolina government, and how to get things done. She's energetic and efficient, and has new ideas. Most of all, she does not take a hyper-partisan but rather a common-sense, independent approach to solving problems.
Before supporting Greer, I researched her opponent, and discovered that he represents only a faction of the Republican Party, not the entire district. You can read what I learned here.
And here are some light-hearted, amateur, home video-clips from the low-country boil (These are on MY blog -- not pre-approved or hosted by Greer's campaign, btw):

In all honesty, I've never met someone as 'real' as Greer is. What she says - she does. I'd trust her with my money, I'd trust her with my children, I'd trust her to be the kind of elected official that really does care about her constituants. She will do the right thing.

Greer's view on North Carolina is just what we need heard in the General Assembly. Her values are the values I share -- truthfulness, integrity, family, community, giving back. We need 120 Greer Beatys in the Legislature. I'm proud to call her my friend, and I will be even more proud to call her my state representative. Please continue to support Greer in anyway you can, and she'll make us all proud.

I have a lot of faith in what Greer can do for the people in her district because without her I wouldn't be where I am today. She gave me my first job and has been instrumental in my career advancement since that time. Greer truly cares about others and has a passion for public service.
The General Assembly needs more people like Greer, people who are hard working, down to earth and can relate to the struggles that low-income and middle-class families experience each day. Please do all you can to help Greer make it to the General Assembly where she can make sure all our voices are heard.

I support Greer because of her passion for equal rights and justice for all North Carolinians, regardless of race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Greer represents an amazing opportunity to replace one of the nastiest (and least effective) legislators with a smart, caring woman who will represent the district well.

As an aside I hate I missed the low county boil. The videos showed a bit of humor, reminding me of Homer Simpson boiling Mr. Pinchy after spending months fattening him up.
I support Greer Beaty because she is a natural leader with smart, progressive platform that promotes the community regardless of political affiliation. I have personally observed Greer delivering a persuasive message to the Raleigh City Council. She has natural presence that commands attention at the microphone while striking a balance between being assertive and using a polite conversational tone that was well received.
Greer did an outstanding job representing our neighborhood and she will do an outstanding job representing her district as a member of the General Assembly.

I support Greer Beaty because she knows that our futures depend on what we build for our children today. Because of her experience working for families and young children, she knows the nitty-gritty of what it takes to build a real sense of community -- whether in the micro sense or the larger sense.

I met Greer because of our children. I am Greer's friend because she is a real, down to earth, likable, person. I don't live in her district, so I can't vote for her, but if I could, I would. My bottom line is our children and their future. This is important to Greer too. She has spent many years working for our children. Making sure they have a great start in life. She can continue this endevour in the House. Greer is real. What she says, she believes.

I met Greer at least 5 yers ago when we were attending the same Episcopal church. Though I did not know her well at that time, I remember her as being approachable and authentic. When she was introduced as a candidate for NC House at a Western Wake Dems meeting, I was impressed with the content and sincerity of her message and the impact of her delivery. Afterward, I didn't give it a second thought--I immediately volunteered to help in her campaign! Greer's grassroots approach to her campaign is a window into the kind of thoughtful and humanistic legislator she will be.

The fact is that I'd support Greer even if I didn't know her from Adam's housecat, because she is the progressive candidate for this seat. But I do know her, and know her well. We have gone to church together, our children have played together since they were babies, and we've been talking politics together for fifteen years.
I know Greer to be sharp and thoughtful, caring and charitable. She's just a good, decent person, and I'm proud to call her my friend.

I met Greer back in March, and I was instantly impressed with her passion and her honest, straightforward demeanor. You know within a minute that she's the kind of no-bull person who's going to go down to Jones Street and get stuff done.
Oh, and she's also a hoot and a half.

I got to know Greer while recovering from an accident in 1992. I was getting help from Community Partnerships and she was a very helpful and friendly office manager with that organization. She was always eager to help with questions or problems I had, and our friendship grew. I progressed enough to get back into the same industry I was in before my accident. Greer's wisdom and willingness to help were a big part of my recovery. 12 years later, I thought I would look up Greer and amazingly, she was running for NC House! I knew immediately what a excellent fit Greer would be to find solutions with problems our state and area may find. She is very resourceful in fixing problems. I found her to be a good, helpful person to call a friend then, and I am sure she will be an excellent person to represent us now.

For as long as I can remember, Greer has always used her knowledge and life experience to help me whenever I need it. As my big sister, she has done this because she wants to see me live a life that is fulfilling, fun and fruitful. By electing her to the North Carolina House of Representatives, all of her constituents will get to see first-hand what I've had my entire life - a helping hand looking out for what's best for them. Greer is caring, compassionate and committed to helping North Carolina be the best that it can be.

I have known Greer for 4 1/2 years. I know her to be honest and a very hard and dedicated worker. She will fight hard for what she believes in. Greer is not afraid to stand up and speak out for what she knows is right. She speaks what is on her mind. She will bring intregrity back into politics. We won't have to worry about scandals with Greer in office plus we will have a friend in the House, and somebody that will work hard for the majority of the citizens of North Carolina.

I knew Greer before she got married, and I remember her winning as Miss Rocky Mount. Greer is a very professional woman, and I know that her heart is in the right place with everyone. She will be perfect in the NC House of Representatives.

I have known Greer most of her life and know what a conscientious, capable and creative young woman she is.
Greer truly believes in things important to both men and women... family, children, good public education, quality of life, the environment, health care, working conditions, security and the hope for a bright future for all North Carolinians and Americans. She will stand up for her beliefs and has no qualms to speak her mind.
She brings a new and energetic focus to this race and would be a true asset to all of us as our Legislator.

I've known Greer Bowen Beatty for most of her life. Greer has always had great passion for what she believes to be right and speaks articulately to support those beliefs. I know that if elected, she will work very hard for all the people of North Carolina. I urge you to read through Greer's website, watch the video clip which is attached of her expressing what she wishes for the future of North Carolina. See if that is what YOU want for your home .. if so, vote for Greer on November 7th. I think you'll be very glad you did!

As I was watching TV, I noticed this face in the ads as running for the House of Representatives and I almost flipped. But knowing Greer when she was a little girl growing up in Rocky Mount while at BCC, then going on to be Miss Rocky Mount; I was not surprised. I knew then that she would be a person to "follow her dreams." With the knowledge and motivation that Greer possessed from long ago, she'll certainly be an asset in Raleigh today. She has my love and support and would certainly have my vote if I lived in her district.
GO GREER!!!!!!
